Paper first, so the table has to follow the ritual
Every diagnostic and workshop at Cache Canvas Core starts with a marked sheet. If an event cannot sit on the canvas, it does not sit in a return table either.
Cue
The proposal that the ritual exists: a 6:45 reminder, a teacher assignment, hunger around Maghrib, a mat by the door. Events that fire here are not completions.
Routine
The act you asked for, finished: ten minutes on the mat, a page recited, a circuit with a duration floor, a drill with a minimum of items. This band is usually week zero’s door.
Reward
The close of the loop the product actually gives — a stamp, a saved verse, a quiet tick. Late rewards that only appear after a long streak stay off the first-week sheet.
Noise
Screen views, error pings, experiment assignments, notification taps that never become a session. Useful elsewhere. Forbidden in a return column.
A worked example from a recitation product
Farid’s team arrived with install-week tables and an event named session_start. On the canvas, that event landed in cue, because it fired when audio buffered, including when a reminder was dismissed. The routine was the end of a page the person marked themselves. The reward was a saved verse, which had never been logged. Once those four placements were visible, the fight about Day 7 became a fight about whether a dismissed reminder was a recitation. It was not.
We keep the sheet dated. When a standing advisory month includes Hari Raya travel, we add a fifth margin for that week rather than stretching the routine band to absorb it. The canvas is allowed to be ugly. It is not allowed to be vague.
What you can do with this without hiring us
Print a page. Write the ritual in one sentence in the middle. Place every event name you currently keep. If two names land on the same band and mean different acts, you already have the argument a diagnostic would have started with. If you want that argument held in a room in Ipoh, or on a call in Malaysia time, the diagnostics list is the next page, and the studio address is waiting for the week people vanish.
